The first weekend of games in the Jefferson County Spring Tournament was cancelled due to several days of stormy weather and extensive rainfall, but the Jefferson ballfield was dry and well groomed for a set of three 7 inning contests last Saturday, 4/25.
In the second game, the Cambridge Blues faced the Fort Atkinson Generals.
Cambridge southpaw Clayton Stenjem started the game with a single off opposing pitcher Kroix Kucken, but not much else came of it as the Generals’ southpaw settled in. Both pitchers had a nice delivery that was enjoyable to photograph.
Generals pitchers Austin Paul, Josh Crandall, and Branden Zastrow followed Kucken and combined to give up a single run and scatter a handful of hits over the seven inning game. I have to say, Josh definitely has a unique windup.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have my notebook, so I’m basing the list of Cambridge pitchers of photos taken. I think the battery includes Kucken, Sam Mickelson, and Clayton Ehrke.
Take note of the catcher photos. I really like the when the dust appearing as smoke puffs out when the ball hits the catcher’s mitt. I also really like when the catcher extends one leg to get really low to the ground.
Despite the lopsided score of 8-1, it was a decent game to watch and photograph. For 2026, I am trying to capture more game activity as evidenced by photos below.
- If your photo(s) appears on this page and you want it removed, ask me.
- Be sure to look at my “Terms and Conditions”. I strive to promote baseball across the state and offer liberal use of my photos for non-profit situations.
- To allow for faster page loading, these photos are not high resolution.
- If you are interested in a high resolution photo, ask me.
- Speaking of my photos, I probably have many more photos from the game than what I am sharing here. If you are looking for photos of a particular player, reach out to me and I’ll see what I have.
- I attend games per my schedule. Upon request, I can make myself available to shoot specific ballgames for, what I believe, is a reasonable fee.
- I am always interested in adding to my Wisconsin baseball memorabilia collection – especially schedules, programs, photos, RPPC (real-photo) postcards, etc. Other unique items are of interest too, especially pre-1970.
