After leaving a game in Genesee later than I intended, I was hoping to catch the last few innings of the 1pm start of the Milton vs. Watertown game. An earlier game delayed the start of the game so I managed to reach Washington Park just as the 2nd inning started.
After an inning the hometown Cardinals took an early 2-1 lead on Malichi Roeseler’s two RBI single. But, that would not last long as Watertown only managed one more hit throughout the game.
Meanwhile, Milton’s patience and power were put on display as the Crescents added 17 runs on 12 walks and 7 hits that included 3 home runs and a double.
Catcher Jack Ryan led the assault with a double, home run, and 6 RBIs. Look for his home run swing and celebration at home with his teammates. I managed to get the other two home run celebrations but sadly i failed to get the home run swings of Marco Falletti and Lucas Lemons. But, there was plenty of other game action captured in the accompanying photos.
A tip of the cap goes to the Watertown coaches for letting me stand at the end of the dugout for photography. It sure was easier being inside the fence for once. Photos from behind home plate were more miss than hit as the thich fence and sunlight made things challenging. The wind was pretty nasty, but I was quite impressed the ability of my drone to maintain stability for a couple photos.
A cooler spring ballgame led to a smaller fan base. Concessions offered a good brat and a cold soda.
