2026-05-23 Reedsburg @ Sauk Prairie (HTL)

Plain and simple, Chuck Hall Memorial Field is one of my favorites. It is the home of Home Talent League’s Sauk Prairie Twins; they are a ballclub for the combined communities of Sauk City and Prairie du Sac.

The look and feel of the ballpark is that of a small minor league team. Baseball history can be found throughout. The grandstand envelopes the home plate area, and a tall green fence spans the outfield from pole to pole. The foul poles are topped with decorative baseballs.

The ballgame itself was dominated by Reedsburg, so the home crowd didn’t have a lot to cheer about. The Pirates got scoring started with a run in the 1st, 4 in the second, and two more in the 4th. The Twins scored three in the bottom of the 4th and that is as close as Sauk Prairie got. The Pirates scored one more in the 5th and 2 in the 7th to widen the lead to 10-3. The Twins got one in the bottom half of the 7th. Each team exchanged a pair of runs in the final two innings.

Final score: Twins: 12 – Pirates: 6.

Sauk Prairie’s offense consisted of 5 singles and a double, and six walks. A couple more baserunners were added due to a pair of Pirate errors.

Reedsburg faired much better. They collected their runs on 9 singles, a homer by Sawyer Molitor, a double and home run by Jake Wegner, and eight walks.

It was a beautiful night at the ballpark.
