The sunlight was harsh and the shadows ran deep, thus making photography a bigger challenge for this mid-afternoon matchup between Watertown and the host Farmington Flames.
Farmington pitchers Aiden Berg and Ian Rintelman were on their game as they stuck out 16 Cardinals while avoiding any free passes and scattering 6 hits.
Watertown hitters managed a run in the top of the 3rd on a pair of singles and a sac fly, and another run in the 8th on a single, pair of stolen bases and another sacrifice fly. Aaron and Luke Roeseler had two hits apiece.
From the other side of the diamond, Farmington took advantage of 8 walks, 4 HBP, and another 4 batters reaching base on errors, all while mustering just 5 hits. The Flames managed to put up 3-spots in the 1st, 2nd, and 7th innings, and another pair of runs crossed the plate in the 8th.
Cleanup hitter, Ian Rintelman had a pair of singles and a double with 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored. And first baseman, Jakub Junker, followed Ian with a 3 deuces: 2 hits (single and homer run), 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored.
