After committing the first half of my day to the LOL game in Hartland, I sped (legally of course) over to Clyman to catch most of the game against Neosho. I missed the fist inning that gave Neosho an early 1-0 margin on a Jacob Heritage lead-off home run.
For the remainder of the game, most of the offense came from the Clyman players; it all started in the bottom of the 1st as Clyman scored 4 on a Josh Oswald 3-run home run, and then a walk and a double (Bryce Schuett).
For the next couple innings the pitchers settled in and held one another’s opponents scoreless. In the bottom of the 4th, Clyman added two more on a Josh Oswald double that was preceded by a walk and single.
In the later innings, Clyman added to their lead by scoring one in the 6th, two in the 7th, and another in the 8th. In the 7th, the first run was scored on a Ryan Weed homer to center. Look for a series of photos of #27, including the fans in right centerfield ringing the home run bell.
Neosho was able to add a run in the 9th on a double, walk, and single.
Notable pitching included Clyman’s starting pitcher Ayden Schauer who surrendered both Neosho runs, but only allowed 5 hits while striking out 8 over 8 innings.
From the plate, Neosho’s Tucker Crabtree had a pair if hits including a double. Four of Clyman’s 10 hits were of the extra-base variety including two doubles (Schuett, Oswald) and two homers (Oswald, Weed). In addition to Oswald’s two extra base hits, he knocked in 5 and scored a run. Bryce Shuett went 3-3, and Cam Schuett was 2-3 with an RBO and 3 runs scored.
