2026-06-23 Ashton A’s at Poynette Indians (HTL)

I am afraid I don’t have too much of a recap for the Tuesday evening matchup between the Home Talent League’s Ashton A’s and Poynette Indians.

I can say that it was an enjoyable game to watch as each team battled for the lead. Ashton jumped out to a 2 run lead in the top of the first. Poynette cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the second. In the top of the 3rd, the A’s scored another pair of runs and the Indians cut the lead in half again, by scoring a run in the bottom half of the inning.

In the 5th, Ashton added one more, but in the bottom half of the inning, Poynette scored 4 to take a 6-5 league heading into the last two frames. Between the 6th and 7th, each team scored a pair of runs to make it 8-7, and that is how the game finished.

Final score: Poynette 8 – Ashton 7.

Shooting was a challenge. There was great sunlight, but trees to the west mottled the playing field with a mix of sun and shade. In one instance you have the player in shade (very dark) and the background is light. In other situations, the lighting is reversed and the players have a tendency to get blown out. It’s a delicate balance. In the end, things turned out okay in post processing.

  • I am always interested in adding to my Wisconsin baseball memorabilia collection – especially schedules, programs, photos, RPPC (real-photo) postcards, etc. Other unique items are of interest too, especially pre-1970.
