2026-07-25 Brookfield Blue Sox at Brookfield Bulldogs. (LOL)

This was a great ballgame!

The Bulldogs staked themselves to an early lead by scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Three runs scored on three singles, a throwing error, and a fielders choice.

In the top of the 4th, the Blue Sox scored two runs when Jackson Sadowski led off with a triple and scored on a Samuel Zarling single. After a walk, the second run scored on a Luke Lehnen single.

In the bottom of the 5th, the Bulldogs stretched their lead by plating a run when Ross Krist singled and scored on a TJ Roberts double.

The Sox tied the score when a Luke Lehnen double was sandwiched between two singles.

In the bottom of the 8th, the Bulldogs retook the lead without a hit The leadoff batter was hit by a pitch, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. The next batter hit a sacrifice fly.

So, entering the ninth, the Blue Sox needed one to tie and two for the lead. They got much more than that. The first batter singled. The next batter attempted a sacrifice bunt but popped out to the catcher. The next two batters walked to load the bases. The fifth batter of the inning popped out to third base. Things were looking grim when the next batter quickly got to an 0-2 count. But a wild pitch and three more balls scored a run and loaded the bases again. Another walk scored another run and a singled scored two more. After 8 1/2, the Blue Sox led 9-5.

Oh, but the game was far from over. It was now the Bulldogs turn.

With one out, three singles loaded the bases and two runs scored on a Ross Krist double. TJ Roberts stepped to the plate. With a 2-2 count, a wild pitch scored another run and advanced Krist to third. With the tying run 90 feet away, Roberts launched hte next pitch over the left field fence fr a two-run, game winning homer.

Final score: Bulldogs 10 – Blue Sox 9.

Each ballclub had a dozen hits. Ethan Hibicke led the Blue Sox with three hits. Jackson Sadowski had a double and triple, and Luke Lehnen and Cody Heisdorf each had tow singles apiece and two RBIs. Leadoff hitter Zach Denneau also had two RBIs.

For the Bulldogs, catcher TJ Roberts led the hit attack with 3 hits including a double and home run, 3 rBIs, and 3 runs scored. Centerfielder, Ross Krist also had a very solid day with 3 hits including a double, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Jacob Heyden and Danny Llanas also had a pair of hits apiece.

Post processing this game took a-lot-of-time. I was able to capture a couple dozen game action photos. I was also happy with photos of the pitchers and a short ladder allowed me to photograph batters from the left and right side of the field.
