2026-05-24 McFarland at Fort Atkinson (HTL)

I’ll begin by apologizing for an omission that became evident when I reviewed photos from this game: I didn’t get a single photo of McFarland players holding a bat. Admittedly, I arrived somewhat late, but there was sufficient time to get some photos of their at-bats. I’ll have to catch another Muskies game in the upcoming weeks.

With that said, this was a lopsided contest with Fort winning soundly by a score of 19-0 in 7 innings. By the time I arrived following the East Troy/Merton game, the Generals already held a 12-0 lead. Eventually, Fort would end up with three 6-run innings.

For the McFarland side of the field there isn’t too much to say. The Muskies had five baserunners including a single, an HBP, and error, and two walks. One baserunner reached 2nd base. Pitching didn’t fair too well either with a dozen walks and three hit batsmen.

Fort pitching was stellar with 15 strikeouts and just a pair of walks. Interestingly, despite the 19 runs, the Generals only had one extra base hit: a doulbe by Brogan Bosch.

Each of the starting nine scored at least one run. Leadoff batter Isaac Heederick went 3-5 with a walk, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. Other notables include DH Gavin Kanters who went 2-4 with a walk, 4 RBIs, and a pair of runs scored, and Braeden Sayre went 2-2 with an RBI and run scored too.

As usual, Fort has great fan support and makes for a fun atmosphere to watch a game. There’s plenty of people hanging around the concessions and there are many lawn chairs set up under the trees down the left field foul line.
