2026-06-28 Racine Kiwanis at Brookfield Bulldogs (LOL)

For the first of two games today, I drove to Brookfield to see the Bulldogs take on the visiting Racine Kiwanis.

After seeing James Severson pitch in the Land O’ Lakes playoffs the previous year, I was happy to see him tossing for Brookfield for this game.

Severson earned the complete game victory by allowing just five hits and four walks while striking out five. Meanwhile, Racine’s pitching duo faired pretty well after a rocky start. After giving up four runs in the first and two runs in the second, the Kiwanis pitching duo of Parker Brown and Logan LaBuda held the Bulldogs scoreless by scattering three hits and walking two.

After a scoreless top half of the first, the Bulldogs took advantage of some messy pitching that included 3 HBP and a walk. All four runs scored on a pair of singles that followed.

In the top of the second, the Kiwanis scored their first run on walk – single – and groundout. Their second run scored on another single. The threat ended on a timely double play.

The Bulldogs added the rest of their runs in the bottom of the second when a pair of walks and an error scored one run, and a second run scored on a double play.

Thereafter, there were a few scoring opportunities but nothing would come of it until the top of the ninth when the Kiwanis added one more run on a single – error – and a pair of walks. With bases loaded Severson induced a pop out to the catcher and a line drive out to first baseman Mason Krznarich.

Final Score: Brookfield Bulldogs 6 – Racine 3
