2026-07-11 Reedsburg Pirates at Black Earth Bombers (HTL)

For the second of to games on Saturday the 11th, I drove to Black Earth to cover the matchup between the Reedsburg Pirates and Bombers. It was a good pitcher’s duel, which was a total opposite of the first game in Rome where the final score was 15-10.

Reedsburg took advantage of a slow start by Bomber’s pitcher, Reed Adler. A leadoff error on the right side of the infield was followed by three consecutive walks that plated the first run. A sac fly from the next batter gave Reedsburg two runs before the Bomber’s first at-bat.

In the top of the 3rd, the Pirates got two on (walk, HBP) with one out, but that threat was erased on an inning ending double play.

Adler held the Pirates hitless until the top of the 8th when leadoff batter Winston Alonso doubled on a sharp grounder to right, and then advanced to 3rd on an error. Two batters later, Alonso scored on a sacrifice fly by Wyatt Molitor.

Meanwhile, the Bombers scored their first run in the bottom of the first on two singles followed by an error. The Bombers managed to get a baserunner in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings, but could not push any runs across.

In the bottom of the 7th, Black Earth took the lead when they scored three runs. The first run scored on the second single of the inning. The other two runs scored on a Derek Adler home run to center. (See the photos.)

Final score; Black Earth 4 – Reedsburg 3
