In this Home Talent League night league playoff matchup, Ashton got out to an early start in the 1st, and never looked back.
A’s catcher, Brooks Kalscheur belted the first pitch over the left field fence for a solo home run. Carson Gehrke followed with a double, but subsequent batters couldn’t get the next run across.
In the bottom of the 2nd, Ashton added five more runs on three singles, a HBP, and a Luke Ballweg grand slam to right. In the 6th, they added two more runs on a walk, Carson Gehrke triple, and Dylan Carrington double. Total run count: 8.
The Wisconsin Dells mustered their lone run in the top of the 2nd, when following a double play, Adam Leonhard doubled and then scored on the first of four A’s errors.
Final score: Ashton 8 – Wisconsin Dells 1
