Let’s admit it, an umpire’s job is not easy. Players, coaches, and spectators expect umps to be flawless. Every decision, whether it is a pitch or a play at the plate, is subject to scorn. For any close call, half the crowd cheers and the other half jeers.
Despite what some may think, it takes skill and a special kind of resilience to be an umpire.
Hat’s off and a special “Thank you” to the men and woman who support Wisconsin amateur baseball!
I tried to photograph umpires for each game from. . .
Rock River League
Land O’ Lakes
Home Talent League
I also photographed a few games from
Wisconsin State League
Dairyland League Baseball
Dairyland Collegiate League
Badger Amateur baseball Association

- I probably have many more photos from the game. If you are looking for photos of a particular player, ask me.
- I am always interested in adding to my Wisconsin baseball memorabilia collection – especially schedules, programs, photos, RPPC (real-photo) postcards, etc. Other unique items are of interest too, especially pre-1970.
